Eligibility
Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older on the date an application is submitted. The Foundation may ask for information needed to apply this policy.
Accurate information
You must provide truthful and accurate information in your enrollment, application, and account details, and keep those details reasonably up to date.
Application review
Submitting an application does not guarantee a Volunteer role. The Foundation may approve, defer, or reject applications according to need, safety, capacity, and suitability.
Activities and availability
Assigned activities depend on current need, safety, weather, animal welfare, and who is available. The Foundation may change, postpone, or cancel activities.
Instructions and animal welfare
Volunteers must follow Foundation instructions while taking part in activities. Animal welfare and personal safety come first. Do not provide independent veterinary treatment, medicines, or handling beyond what you have been authorised to do.
Conduct
Volunteers are expected to treat people, animals, neighbours, and Foundation property with care. Harassment, unsafe behaviour, or misuse of Foundation systems may lead to suspension or revocation of Volunteer access.
Property, systems, and credentials
Foundation property, records, accounts, and issued Volunteer ID or credential materials remain Foundation-controlled. They may be used only for authorised Volunteer purposes and may be suspended or revoked. A Volunteer ID does not create public authority to speak or act for the Foundation.
No employment relationship
Volunteer participation does not create employment, partnership, or agency. Unless the Foundation agrees otherwise in writing, Volunteer work is unpaid and does not include salary or other compensation.
No authority to bind the Foundation
Volunteers may not enter contracts, collect funds, make public statements, or represent the Foundation unless expressly authorised for that task.
Ending access
Either you or the Foundation may end Volunteer access. The Foundation may suspend or revoke standing, credentials, and account access where needed for safety, policy, or operational reasons.
